FrontRunners: Tree Toppler

  • La Maison du Chocolat Mendiant Ornament and Work of Art

You might need a Christmas tree with braces instead of just branches to hang the 13.4-pound, $900 La Maison du Chocolat Mendiant Ornament and Work of Art (www.lamaisonduchocolat.us). The tasty bauble is bigger than a basketball and consists of a dark-chocolate shell decorated with Eiffel Tower–shaped designs and nearly 2,000 perforations and filled with pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans covered in 22-karat gold leaf. La Maison is offering the ornament by special order at its Madison Avenue boutique in New York.
