Best of the Best 2011: Coupes & GTs: Audi TT RS

The Audi TT RS (www.audiusa.com), the high-performance variant of the cute TT model, embodies the spirit of the rally-racing cars with which the brand enjoyed so much success in the 1980s. The TT RS’s 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine (similar to those that powered the Quattro racers three decades ago) produces 360 hp and 332 ft lbs of torque, which is enough to launch the car from zero to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. This type of performance, accompanied by the car’s guttural exhaust note, makes the TT RS one of the most exhilarating coupes on the market. The car’s expected price is about $60,000.
