FrontRunners: Cruiser Control

The 2011 Ducati Diavel (www.ducati.com) offers the muscular styling and impressive engine output of a power cruiser without sacrificing the agility for which the Italian brand is famous. The bike’s mighty L-twin displaces 1198 cc and produces a hefty 162 hp and 94 ft lbs of torque. However, the Diavel weighs only 456 pounds, which is about 250 pounds lighter than most of the bikes in its class, and it has enough ground clearance to allow for 41-degree lean angles. Pricing for the Diavel ranges from $16,995 for the base model to $19,995 for the Carbon edition, which features lighter Marchesini wheels and red carbon-fiber trim.
