Spyker C8 Aileron

Fewer than 100 models of the original Spyker C8 have been delivered to the United States since production began in 2000, making the Dutch-built sports car scarcer than a Ferrari Enzo on American soil. But Spyker intends to boost the brand’s popularity with the 2010 C8 Aileron. Featuring an all-aluminum space frame and bodywork design, the vehicle’s driving dynamics are greatly improved over the previous model. The car’s fresh exterior styling also enhances performance by incorporating jet-like spherical air intakes—an obvious cue to the company’s aviation heritage—to cool the mid-mounted (Audi-sourced) 4.2-liter V-8 engine. An optional 6-speed automatic gearbox (a first for Spyker) also makes the car easier to drive for those looking for elegant and exclusive daily driver. Pros: Unparalleled craftsmanship. Cons: Most buyers expect more than 420 hp from an exotic car this beautiful.
