Best of the Best 2012: Business Aircraft: Light Midsize: Cessna Citation XLS+

At sea level, the Cessna Citation XLS+ (316.517.6056, www.cessna.com) can take off from a runway as short as 3,650 feet and reach cruising altitude in just 15 minutes. Those performance numbers are comparable to a light jet’s. The Cessna also features a roomy 18.5-foot-long cabin with adequate headroom and an impressive 90 cubic feet of baggage space. This $12.7 million jet carries as many as 12 passengers and has a range of about 2,100 miles. It also has retained residual values far greater than those of other jets in this category.
