Best of the Best 2012: Business Aircraft: Super Midsize: Dassault Falcon 2000LX

  • Michelle Seaton

Capable of covering 4,600 miles when carrying four passengers, the Dassault Falcon 2000LX (201.440.6700, www.dassaultfalcon.com) boasts the best range among super midsize jets. It can fly from New York to Moscow or from Los Angeles to Lima, Peru—distances usually associated with much larger aircraft. In addition to range, the Falcon 2000LX offers versatility, speed, and efficiency. At sea level, it can take off in less than 5,600 feet of runway and can climb to its cruise altitude in 15 minutes. It also burns just 270 gallons of fuel per hour of flight, which is unusually low for an aircraft with the Falcon’s capabilities. This $33.4 million jet seats 10 passengers in a cabin that has 6.2 feet of headroom and is nearly 8 feet wide and more than 26 feet long.
