In early August, NetJets—the world leader in fractional aircraft ownership and private-flight services—opened a private airport terminal in Los Angeles, which has long been one of the company’s highest-traffic regions. Located at Van Nuys Airport and available only to NetJets clients, the 10,000-square-foot facility offers easy access to Santa Monica, Malibu, and Hollywood, while avoiding the hubbub of Los Angeles International Airport.

“We wanted a dedicated space for our customers traveling in and out of the L.A. area,” says Chris Jahn, head of guest services at NetJets Van Nuys. “This is our first opportunity to do that in a private setting, and Van Nuys is the top location for the L.A. area. It’s really the first of its kind for us since NetJets created a presence on the West Coast.”

The stylish waiting area features contemporary furnishings, a coffee bar that converts to a wine bar in the evenings, a private conference room and a business center, complimentary wireless Internet access, a children’s playroom with video game consoles, and a crew lounge and rest area. Services include on-site catering with a dedicated kitchen staff, secured ramp-side valet parking with car washing and detailing available, and 24-hour customer service.

The Van Nuys facility is the first of several new private-use terminals that NetJets has in the works. Other locations will include Atlanta; San Jose, Calif.; and Palm Beach, Fla. (877.356.5823, www.netjets.com)
