Benetti Yachts Launches First of its New Crystal Series

  • Benetti Crystal 140

The semicustom Benetti Class range just got bigger. In January, the Italian builder tested out the Crystal 140, the first hull of its new Crystal Series, which will be delivered to its owner in February. The Crystal Series focuses on the relationship between the interior of the yacht and the actuality of being on the water, with large windows that provide great views and ample natural light. The master suite, for instance, features a floor-to-ceiling window that gives a view of the water from the bed.

Stefano Righini took care of the yacht’s exterior styling, and François Zuretti designed the interior, which, like all interiors in the Benetti Class range, is available in a classic or a modern style. This yacht accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms, including a main-deck master, with space for seven crew to keep things running smoothly.

The Crystal 140 offers up plenty of alfresco dining and lounging spaces, as well as multiple sunning stations. A hot tub on the sundeck ensures onboard dipping, but the aft beach deck makes getting into the ocean a breeze.

During sea trials, the Crystal 140 achieved a maximum speed of 16 knots, but official specifications grant it a 15-knot top speed and a cruising speed of 14. The yacht has a range of 4,000 nautical miles if kept to 12 knots. All of this is thanks to its two CAT C32 Acert engines. (+39.0584.3821, www.benettiyachts.it)
