Best of the Best 2011: Custom Megayachts: Solemates

Lürssen’s 197-foot Solemates (+49.421.6604.166, www.lurssen.com; available for charter through Luxury Yacht Group, 954.525.9959, www.luxyachts.com)features a shapely exterior by Monaco-based designer Espen Øino and an equally stylish interior decorated with the owner’s modern art collection. Launched last July, the yacht accommodates as many as 12 guests in four equal-size staterooms, a smaller VIP cabin on the bridge deck, and a full-beam owner’s cabin with a massive hot tub and an aromatherapy shower in its en-suite bathroom. Solemates’ enormous sundeck, which has a hot tub and a gym, features electric sliding doors that allow the space to be partitioned for privacy. The space also transforms into a disco, complete with DJ and video stations, laser lights, and a smoke machine. Guests can use an iPad to control the yacht’s entertainment systems, as well as to dim lights, raise and lower cabin blinds, and call on Solemates’ 15-member crew for service.
