Galileo G (+39.0187.28371, www.perininavi.it) is the second launch from the Vitruvius line of explorer yachts, which is a collaborative effort between naval architect Philippe Briand and Italian builder Perini Navi. (The first Vitruvius yacht, Exuma, was last year’s Best of the Best award winner in this category.) Delivered last October, the new vessel measures 183 feet in length and sports an ice-class-certified hull. Galileo G also boasts an impressive 9,000-nautical-mile range and an environmentally friendly design that allows it to traverse fragile coasts and berth in marinas with strict emissions policies. The trideck explorer accommodates 12 guests in a main-deck master suite, four belowdecks staterooms, and a main-deck gym that converts into a cabin. Alfresco space is plentiful on the foredeck and aft main deck, the latter of which can be fully enclosed in bad weather. The yacht’s three tender garages house a 31-foot rigid-inflatable boat, a 21-foot Smuggler, and a 14-foot rescue tender, plus two Lasers and four kayaks.
