Best of the Best 2012: Production Boats: Frauscher 1017 GT

Launched last September, the Frauscher 1017 GT (www.frauscherboats.com) is an exceptional racer that represents the pinnacle of performance and design from the 85-year-old Austrian shipyard. The 33-foot 1017 GT (named for the boat’s 10.17-meter length) is equipped with dual 300 hp engines—which can be upgraded to 430 hp apiece—and can reach a top speed of more than 50 knots. Dual Z-drives make the boat easy to maneuver. The 1017 GT is also Frauscher’s most spacious to date, with seating and lounging areas for as many as eight guests above decks. A capacious belowdecks cabin provides sleeping accommodations for two, plus a kitchen, shower, and head. Prices for this exceedingly comfortable grand tourer start at approximately $330,000.
