Best of the Best 2012: Semicustom Megayachts: Arcadia 115

The Arcadia 115 (+39.0811.955.4898, www.arcadiayachts.it) sports distinct but purposeful styling. The Italian shipyard constructs the 115-foot yacht’s deckhouse from solar-paneled glass, and windows make up most of the superstructure, lending the vessel a unique look and energy efficiency while giving passengers panoramic views. Like the rest of the yachts in Arcadia’s range, the 115 has a half-gliding hull that enables it to move easily across the water. The 115 can reach a top speed of 18.5 knots under power of its twin 1,224 hp engines, and it can travel as fast as 7.5 knots in total silence under hybrid propulsion. In the yacht’s main salon, which is divided by a pair of narrow floor-to-ceiling cabinets, hydraulic drop-down doors run the length of the port and starboard bulwarks. The doors can be lowered to create dual open-air spaces, which Arcadia outfits with Poltrona Frau furnishings. The premier 115, which launched in November as M’Ocean, accommodates 10 guests in four staterooms and the main-deck full-beam master suite, which includes an office and a large bathroom with a spa tub. Arcadia can configure the yacht with either three or four lower-deck staterooms.
