Chris-Craft’s Cool Cruiser
Chris-Craft builds sport boats favored as both primary vessels and tenders. Not only do they look fast, they are fast. The Corsair 36 is the latest that will surely turn heads, not just because of the nearly 42-knot top speed, but also for Chris-Craft’s classic-meets-modern innovative amenities.
At first glance, the cockpit seems best suited for simply enjoying the ride. There are two long, L-shape settees. But there’s also a table that rises electrically from the teak sole. It can stop at cocktail height or come fully to dining height. The teak-appointed cabin has a V-shape dining area forward. But really, who wants to eat indoors when alfresco options await? Keep the table lowered and topped with a filler cushion, to serve as a berth. The long skylight directly overhead makes for a more airy feel.
Whether you buy the boat for weekend fun or for transporting guests from your megayacht to shore, make sure to consider your color options. Gelcoat is standard, with paint—both matte and metallic tones—optional. For classic appeal, you could go with the Midnight Blue hull and Riviera Red boot stripe. If you want to really make a statement, though, select the sparkly silver hull. (www.chriscraft.com)
