Double Debutantes from Heesen

The Netherlands-based Heesen Yachts recently delivered two motor yachts, the 153-foot (46.7-meter) Lady Petra and the 147-foot (44.77-meter) Lady L, which likely will turn heads at sea.

The shipyard built Lady Petra for company founder Frans Heesen and his wife, Petra. This is the second Heesen vessel for the founding family and the seventh in the 47-meter, full-displacement line of Omega Architects–designed Heesen yachts. Its Bannenberg & Rowell interior features a variety of precious metals that create a sleek yet inviting decor. Built in steel and aluminum, Lady Petra accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms, including an upper-deck master suite. Her twin MTU 8V 4000 M70 engines propel the yacht to a top speed of 15.5 knots with a range of 4,000 nautical miles while cruising at 12 knots. Naiad stabilizers keep everyone steady.

In Heesen’s semi-displacement 44-meter series, Lady L comes eighth, but in terms of speed, this yacht comes out on top. Like the other vessels in this line, Lady L boasts a 25-knot maximum speed, thanks to the yacht’s two MTU 16V 4000 M90 engines and the efficient Heesen aluminum hull, which in this case sports a dark blue and dark gray paint job. This is the fastest 147-foot yacht of this style on the water. Omega Architects’ Frank Laupman crafted Lady L’s tasteful interior, which accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam master suite with private study. A 645-square-foot sundeck expands the livable space, as do the lounging and dining areas on the upper deck, main aft deck, and foredeck. Naiad zero-speed stabilizers ensure comfort at anchor.
