FrontRunners: Epica Proportions

Fiart Mare has launched 132 different models since producing its first vessel, in 1960. The Italian boatbuilder’s latest, the Fiart Mare Epica 58 (www.fiartmare.it), is its largest. The 58-foot weekend cruiser, priced at $2.2 million (including U.S. delivery), offers such above-deck features as sun pads forward and aft, a wet bar, a carbon-fiber hard top, teak decking, and a diving board off the stern’s swim platform. The belowdecks area includes a living room and a full galley, as well as three en-suite cabins, with stand-up showers, for as many as six overnight guests. Dual 700 hp Volvo engines power the Epica 58 to a top speed faster than 30 knots.
