Princess Yachts Showcases Its Largest Model Yet

The United Kingdom has a new royal—the Princess 40M, which is the largest yacht to date from England’s Princess Yachts. Named for its length in meters, the 132-foot model marks the shipyard’s first foray into this size range, and the results are impressive: Balconies on each side of the salon fold down, and for hull number one (christened Imperial Princess), the owner selected richly colored and textured walnut wood to adorn the walls and walnut and limestone to alternate underfoot. Being a semicustom model, the Princess 40M is available in a variety of layouts. The first hull has an office in the main-deck owner’s suite. The owner of a subsequent example opted for a gym instead of the office. Below, four or five guest staterooms offer additional versatility. Owners also have the option for a gym instead of one of the guest cabins, or two staterooms instead of a full-beam VIP cabin. The Princess 40M has a reported top speed of 23 knots under power of twin MTU engines available as an upgrade. (www.princessyachts-us.com)
