Riela

The prime example of Perini Navi’s 56-meter aluminum-hull series, the 184-foot Riela (401.683.5600, www.perininavi.it; available for charter through Camper & Nicholsons International, +377.97.97.77.00, www.cnyachts.com) is a ketch-rigged sailing yacht with a distinct style that is the result of a collaboration between naval architect Ron Holland and designer Rémi Tessier. The boat’s serene interior features Macassar ebony custom furniture, light teak flooring, and bleached wenge walls, but also offers such playful touches as a bright orange leather trunk filled with old-school board games. For outdoor entertainment, the yacht has a sundeck with a hot tub and bar area.

Launched in April 2009, Riela accommodates as many as 12 guests in six staterooms. Nine crew serve the passengers and man the boat, which, with more than 16,000 square feet of sail, is capable of reaching speeds over 16 knots. For off-board excursions, Riela carries two Castoldi 21-foot tenders and two sailing dinghies.
