The tried-and-true leather brand Bally brings considerable expertise to its new made-to-order collection Scribe. The footwear line presents leather and exotic skins in a range of styles, but the standout is this calfskin boot (right, $1,350), which has been hand-painted for an antique effect. Each made-to-order pair of shoes is handcrafted in a process that requires nearly 200 steps, and is well worth the six to eight weeks’ wait for delivery. (212.446.3930, www.bally.com)
