Elegant, Alligator Accessories

  • Christina Garofalo

Artisan leather-goods maker Frank Clegg has unveiled a collection of made-to-order alligator bags and accessories, which he personally hand-cuts, stains, and stitches because the skins are so precious and valuable. Each item is crafted from the belly of the alligator—the most flawless part of the skin—and has a matte finish for an understated appeal.

The collection comprises six items, which Clegg produces in his Fall River, Mass., workshop—a briefcase ($7,500), a duffel bag ($6,000), a toiletry kit ($950), a passport case ($850), a wallet ($590), and a business card case ($350). They are made to order (two to four weeks for accessories and four to six for the larger pieces) and each is signed by Frank Clegg. (508.672.4574, www.frankcleggleatherworks.com)
