Isaia

ike most italian clothiers, Isaia(888.996.7555, www.isaia.it) makes its suits with machines and then adds the finishing details—sleeves, shoulders, collars, and buttonholes—by hand. However, Isaia sets itself apart by placing the idiosyncratic puckered sleeve detail on the inside of the shoulder and by incorporating other proprietary details, such as a hidden pocket inside the waistband of its slacks. Isaia also produces all of its suits in limited-edition or technically advanced fabrics, including its exclusive water- and stain-resistant Aqua cloths made of cashmere, wool, cotton, and other natural fibers. This year the brand has introduced a 120-gram wool/silk fabric called Aqua Light that, by most jacket-fabric standards, is among the lightest in the world.
