Patina restaurant in downtown Los Angeles is kicking off the New Year with three black truffle dinners on January 10, 11, and 12 for up to 240 guests per night. Patina will offer three-, five-, and seven-course menus ($95, $135, and $175, respectively) with optional wine pairings ($35, $60, and $80). The meal will include scallop crudo with black truffle, romaine, leeks, and crostini; duck terrine poulard with artichoke frisée and truffle vinaigrette; and poached pear and brown butter cake with black truffle ice cream. Patina will also offer monthlong black truffle specials, such as truffle-infused egg pasta.
On January 18, Patina’s chefs will host a fourth black truffle dinner at New York City’s James Beard House to celebrate Beard House’s 25th anniversary. The event will be open to 80 guests ($155 for members and $205 for nonmembers). (213.972.3331, www.patinarestaurant.com)
