The Annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine: Rethinking Standard Wine Drinking

Christina Garofalo

Two hundred and fifty wineries and 75 top chefs are collaborating to create unique food and wine events at the fifth annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine celebration, which runs from April 12 to 15 at the Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, Calif., and surrounding properties. Events range from a wine tasting that celebrates 30 years of first-growth Bordeaux, featuring wine from Château Haut Brion, Château Latour, and more; to more casual fare such as grilled-cheese and wine pairing, led by James Beard award–winning cheese expert Laura Werlin for $100 per person. Other activities include the Lexus Grand Tasting, at which guest can try up to 300 different wines from 200 wineries from around the world, along with food from 25 celebrity chefs ($195 per person); and a decadent wine and chocolate pairing led by Lindt's master chocolatier, Ann Czaja ($100 per person). The complete four-day festival will feature more than 50 events that put a creative spin on the average pairing dinner, so there will be something to satisfy foodies and wine connoisseurs alike.
