FrontRunner: Rocket Ship

  • Louisa Beckett

Part megayacht, part missile, the Pershing 90 (www.pershing-yacht.com), a scaled-down version of the Ferretti-owned Italian builder’s flagship 115, blends spacious accommodations with performance—a top speed faster than 50 mph—that is amazing for a boat of its size.

The 90’s main deck, characterized by open space, high headroom, and minimalist decor, holds a U-shaped sofa facing a pop-up, 42-inch plasma TV. Nearby is an elegant dining area. A stair leads up to a sundeck atop the yacht’s superstructure. Below, the owner’s suite takes advantage of the boat’s full 20-foot beam. It has a king-size bed, a desk, and a bath with a double shower. Three large portholes on each side provide stunning sea-level views. Three staterooms are located forward of the suite, and two crew cabins and a galley are aft.

The Pershing 90 is priced from 6.65 million euros ($7.85 million) and will be available in the United States beginning in August.
