FrontRunners: In the Pink

British jewelry designer Stephen Webster (212.226.6160,
www.stephenwebster.com) knows that champagne and diamonds make a perfect match. And Dom Pérignon’s Rosé Vintage 1993, a rare champagne that comes of age this year, was the ideal muse for a collection of limited edition jewels inspired by the enticing color and effervescence of the pink bubbly.

The showpiece of Webster’s new Dom Pérignon Rosé jewelry collection is the Magnum Rose, an exceptional emerald-cut 11.19-carat fancy pink diamond that was cut by the renowned Steinmetz diamond house and set in Webster’s diamond-encrusted star pendant. Webster also used pink diamonds, sapphires, and morganite set in rose gold with touches of brilliant green tsavorite and black diamonds to create an array of designs that emulate the rosé shades of the champagne. Some of the stones feature an innovative new gem cut with a smooth outer surface and facets underneath, creating the illusion of tiny bubbles, just like the ones that rise in a flute of the vintage Dom.
