FrontRunners: Landmark Flight

When a Hawker 800 touched down at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., on July 26, it did not mark the end of an ordinary business trip. The jet carried 8-year-old Christopher Becker, a brain cancer patient, and his father, Patrick, from their Florida home to New York’s Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The flight was arranged by the Corporate Angel Network (914. 328.1313, www.corpangelnetwork.org), a 20-year-old charity that organizes business jet flights to take cancer patients to their treatments. Becker’s flight was the 15,000th arranged by the network, and it took place on a Flight Options (216.261.3880, www.flightoptions.com) jet, the first fractional company to offer flights to the organization.
