FrontRunners: Minor Masterpieces

A different form of locomotion may appeal to younger travelers (or their parents at least). During his career, French designer Philippe Starck has left his mark on a variety of objects, buildings, and vessels—including the Elysée Palace in Paris and the Virtuelle racing sailboat—and now he has turned his hand to the baby buggy. Maclaren (www.maclarenbaby.com), a maker of premier baby products, has teamed up with the designer to create a collection of items, including the Maclaren by Starck Buggy ($300), available at the Conran Shop (www.conranshop.co.uk) and FAO Schwarz (www.fao.com).

While chauffeuring Junior in a Starck, you might as well swaddle him in something just as eye-catching. Little Giraffe (www.littlegiraffe.com), the maker of chenille and satin blankets, has introduced a Luxe Collection that includes a baby blanket in plush yet lightweight faux fur. The $85 blanket comes in cream, pink, mocha, blue, onyx, chocolate, rose, or wisteria.
