FrontRunners: Mount of Information

Frauscher, an Austrian maker of runabouts, has created a boat for surfing—Web surfing, that is. The company recently unveiled a prototype of a 22-foot Frauscher 686 Lido (www.frauscherboats.com) packed with information technology, including a Lenovo computer with a water-resistant 15-inch display. The $150,000 craft, which reaches 55 mph, also features an HTC S710 smart phone, an iPod Nano, Blue-tooth connectivity, and a GPS embedded within a computer mouse. Frauscher debuted the boat at a conference of attorneys (i.e., the perpetually connected). The company has granted exclusive U.S. distribution rights for the high-tech vessel to Luxe Marine (www.luxemarine.com) of Miami.
