    LA AURORA 1495
Had the La Aurora 1495 cigar actually been available in 1495, Columbus never would have doubted the wisdom of his venture. The 1495 celebrates Columbus’ founding of the Dominican Republic’s Santiago de los Caballeros, one of the first cities in the Americas. Some historians claim that Christopher Columbus actually founded the city in 1494, and others believe that his brother Bartolomeo founded it in 1495. Nevertheless, the cigar’s robust, chocolaty flavor is as bold as the Columbus spirit. It has a spicy start and a mellow yet powerful finish. The cigar’s complex blend combines Dominican corojo and Nicaraguan filler with a Dominican corojo binder and an Ecuadorean wrapper. The 5 x 50 robusto is our favorite of the four sizes.
