The new Samsung K5 digital audio player (www.samsung.com) is unique among MP3 devices in that it can entertain both with and without earphones. Slide the halves of the case apart, and a diminutive but crystalline-sounding pair of speakers appears. The player also includes a 1.7-inch LED touchscreen, FM tuner, and alarm clock. It is available in 2 GB and 4 GB versions for $210 and $260, respectively.
