FrontRunners: TV That Is Worth Viewing

  • Deedra Allison

Sim2 begins a new era in television design with the Grand Cinema RTX, a rear-projection trapezoidal DLP monitor that features wide shoulders and a dramatically tapered base. The most attractive televisions cannot compare with the sleek, backward sloping design, and no other TV offers a choice of colors—red, black, or silver—for the rear enclosure. Two models are available: The 45-inch model ($10,995) is a mere 14.5 inches deep, and the 55-inch unit ($12,995) is just two inches deeper. "We created the Grand Cinema RTX to meet the needs of those who demand cutting-edge technology as well as breathtaking design consistent with the image of their home," says Maurizio Cini, CEO of Sim2 Multimedia.

The RTXs are the first TVs to incorporate the HD2 chip, which also powers the company’s flagship Grand Cinema HT300 Plus projector. The new technology helps simplify installation and improve color and contrast. As with all products in the Grand Cinema series, software updates are available at www.sim2usa.com.
