In the true spirit of haute couture, the Parisian fashion house Chanel (800.550.0005, www.chanel.com) has unveiled a collection of 150 one-of-a-kind jewelry designs that has em-barked on a global tour of its boutiques for a series of private showings. The Private Collection landed in New York in November; next it is off to Beverly Hills, Waikiki, and the Far East.

These exclusive designs reflect Coco Chanel’s imaginative and playful sensibilities. In fact, some pieces are re-creations of jewels from her original fine jewelry collection that debuted in 1932. This diverse cache of jewels includes diamond-studded comets shooting out of large sapphire bracelets, chunky rings, and colorful, bold Byzantine-inspired crosses. A standout is the Swing necklace featuring 955 diamonds that chaotically dangle around the neck while framing a 7.5-carat diamond centerpiece. Clients who miss the showings can still shop for the jewels from the Private Collection catalog available at Chanel Fine Jewelry boutiques.
