Baccarat Unveils Crystal Candy

  • Jorge Arango

Jaime Hayon, the barely-30-year-old, Spanish designer of the moment who has a prankster’s irreverence for high style, has created a collection for Baccarat. After putting his stamp on products for Bisazza, Camper, and Lladró (among others) he tackles fine crystal with his “Crystal Candy Set,” bringing along his signature over-the-top Baroque forms, impish humor, and Almodóvar-like penchant for color. Each of the nine pieces, some innovatively mixing crystal and porcelain, is signed and numbered in limited editions of 25. They range in price from $15,000 to $21,500.
