Gestural Metal Furniture from Italy

  • Jorge Arango

Italian designer Maria Lamberti D’Elia’s new collection of hand-welded and polished steel furniture has just become available in the United States. The pieces in the Lamberti Decor Collection are sleek, elegant, and handsomely proportioned, and each form is essentially a single perfect gesture. The desk ($11,038) looks like a swoop that rises from the floor, the chaise ($14,102) resembles a gentle wave, the bookshelf ($20,850) manifests as a vertical crenellation. There is also a variously sized table ($22,450 to $29,000) that comes with a marble insert. (646.772.2368, www.lambertidecor.it)
