21 Ultimate Gifts: Diamonds Du Jour

<< Back to Robb Report, December 2004

If it is true that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then those who believe you can never have too many friends will covet this set of seven rings from Vivid Collection. Each ring features a different color diamond: pink, red, yellow, green, white, and two shades of blue. The rings’ collective weight exceeds 132 carats.

The pink diamond is a pear-shaped, 3.61-carat stone flanked by two smaller pear-shaped fancy blue diamonds in a platinum and 18-karat gold setting. The 1.73-carat red diamond is encircled by eight pear-shaped white diamonds that give the platinum ring the appearance of a glittering flower. Pink pavé-set diamonds and 18-karat pink gold provide a striking contrast to a 4.69-carat, cushion-cut green diamond. The two rings featuring blue diamonds are a study in contrasts. One ring, which has a platinum setting, holds a .82-carat, emerald-cut dark blue diamond framed by six pear- and two marquise-cut diamonds with a total weight of more than 6 carats. The other ring, with an 18-karat pink gold setting, places a 5.09-carat blue diamond against a backdrop of pink pavé diamonds. Anchoring the series are a 28.80-carat, radiant-cut yellow diamond, set in platinum with two bullet-shaped diamonds on either side, and a 58.15-carat, emerald-cut white diamond, also set in platinum and surrounded by four baguette-cut diamonds that weigh in excess of 5 carats.

The rings will be accompanied by a box with seven slots, plus two traveling ring pouches—one for a single ring and one designed to hold the entire group. Vivid Collection playfully suggests that the recipient can wear a different ring on each day of the week, and it offers an insert for the box with day designations. Of course, the owner is free to wear whichever ring suits her mood.

Price: $21.15 million. Contact: Vivid Collection, 212.688.3088. The rings are also available for individual sale; pricing is available upon request.
