FrontRunners: Moving Designs

  • H.Stern diamond-studded cuff.

Roberto Stern, president and creative director of Brazilian jeweler H.Stern, spent five years studying the choreography, costumes, and music of Grupo Corpo, a Brazilian modern-dance company, while developing his firm’s new 60-piece Grupo Corpo collection (www.hstern.net). Priced from $620 to $55,000, the pieces are based on the movement of dance and include a diamond-studded cuff with an open-work swirl design and a leather ribbon that wraps around the wrist. Dramatically composed necklaces in the series reflect the energy of an African-inspired Brazilian dance.
