This Californian has centerline, queen-sized berths in both of its staterooms. Each stateroom has its own head and shower with a full-sized bathtub in the Master stateroom. The heads were replaced with fresh-water supplied Atlantis heads. A stacked washer and dryer combination hide behind custom teak doors in the companionway to the aft stateroom. The salon has a new Toshiba Flat Screen TV / DVD / VHS and a CD / tape player (all 2004) with speakers in the two staterooms plus the salon. The comfortable setee has a unique ottoman with a custom-made Teac serving table that fits over it. Teac cabinetry and a single-chair with ottoman round out the salon finishings, along with a bar stool that doubles as the lower helm Captains chair. The galley has a 4-burner Orego flat glass cooktop, Sharp Carousel microwave / convection oven, full-size GE refrigerator, dual stainless round sinks, Corian countertops, parquet floors, and a U-shaped dinette with seating for six.In all of these areas, Californian used all available spaces for storage. There is plenty of it for the most collective boater.
Vessel Walkthrough
"Kentucky Woman" is tastefully decorated with premium fabrics, inside and out, including Sunbrella Designer fabrics in the bridge and aft deck. The carpets were upgraded to wool for comfort and durability. The settee and dinette were recovered in a washable ultrasuede. Bimini with premium Stratoglas including zip-in screens for the aft deck. Kentucky Woman had been kept in fresh water in Kentucky when we purchased her in 2003. She has been moored in the fresh-water lagoon of QueensHarbour ever since. The Californian 45 MY is a high-quality cruising yacht with a handsome profile and comfortable accommodations. She is built using the same seakindly hull as other boats in the Californian series with moderate beam and a relatively steep 15 degree of transom deadrise. Her two-stateroom interior is arranged with the galley and dinette down, resulting in a spacious and open salon. This layout features a centerline double berth in both staterooms, and each head has a separate stall shower. Hand-rubbed teak cabinetry and woodwork are used extensively throughout, and large cabin windows provide plenty of natural lighting in the salon and galley. It is easy to operate and fun to use with its swim platform and pulpit.
