Robb Report World Exclusive: First-Drive Of 800-Horsepower Iconic Motors GTR

August Issue Goes Behind The Wheel of $600,000 American Roadster

MALIBU, CA– Scheduled to hit newsstands on July 22, the August issue of international monthly luxury lifestyle authority Robb Report will take readers on a world exclusive, first-ever test-drive behind the wheel of the ferocious, 800-horsepower Iconic Motors GTR Roadster.

Considered a certified American supercar, the $600,000 GTR is capable of attaining speeds in excess of 200 mph. Incorporating mostly American-supplied components--including everything from the engine and chassis to the gauge needles, which light up and blink to convey important information—the GTR is loaded with the latest technological advances, and can be started with an iPhone or a wireless laptop.

"The Iconic GTR Roadster is a modern riff on classic designs such as the Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta, A.C. Ace, and Shelby Cobra," explains Robb Report Senior Editor Gregory Anderson. "Iconic has wrapped an 800-hp engine and Formula One-derived chassis into sexy sheet metal — or in this case, carbon fiber and aluminum to create a state-of-the-art American supercar.

The cover story results form months of collaboration between Robb Report and Iconic Motors. Initial planning began following the GTR’s world debut in April at the New York International Auto Show. In the ensuing months, the roadster was subsequently disassembled and rebuilt for Robb Report Contributing Writer Ezra Dyer’s test-drive near Iconic’s Farmingdale, New York world headquarters.

Robb Report’s August issue will also offer readers an abundant selection of news and features revealing the latest news, information and trends impacting the international luxury world. Highlights will include:

 • The Best of Burgundy”: A meticulously selected list of the 25 most exceptional red and white wines from the 2005 and 2006 vintages.

 • A look at the new GT500KR Mustang developed by automotive manufacturing and motorsports legend Carroll Shelby.

 • A feature that explores the emergence of helicopters as “must-have” accessories for yacht owners.

 • A tour of a recently refurbished, lavish French estate built by an eccentric who “communed” with Napoleon’s ghost.
