The manufacturer that has won more than 300 Superbike World Championships should remain a category leader with the Ducati 1199 Panigale (www.ducati.com). The lightest and fastest superbike ever made, the 1199 weighs just 361.5 pounds (22 pounds less than its predecessor, the 1198) and produces 195 hp and 98.1 ft lbs of torque. The bike, which is priced from $18,000 to $28,000 (for the S Tricolore edition) and will become available for purchase in March, also features a redesigned exhaust system and a new compact, front-heavy monocoque chassis.
