FrontRunners: Right Instep

It is easy to warm up to the Salvatore Ferragamo Special Edition Tramezza (www.ferragamo.com) shoe collection. Made from leather that has been treated so that it becomes elastic as its temperature rises, the shoes use your body heat to mold to your feet’s insteps and imprints. The shoes can be ordered made-to-measure or bought ready-made at Ferragamo boutiques, and are hand-stained and stitched together using the company’s tramezza welting process. They will become available in September, with prices ranging from $1,950 for the pair shown to as much as $8,950 for the alligator version.
