FrontRunners: Twisted Tryst

The Chopard Pompeii Collection (www.chopard.com) showcases designs and images from the Italian city’s excavated mosaics and—depending on how far you twist the bottoms of the pens—a lot more. The series consists of 200 sterling-silver roller pens ($3,900 each) and 100 fountain pens ($4,500), but Chopard also offers a custom solid-gold version. Each pen’s cap features a design modeled after a mosaic unearthed at the Villa Diomedes, while the barrel displays a portrait of a Pompeian couple. Twist the bottom of the pen for another image of the couple, this one in flagrante delicto.
