Preview 2005: Inner Space

If there is one significant drawback to the 2004 Bentley Continental GT, it is the coupe’s supermodel-slim back seat. The Bentley Continental GT sedan, a four-door version of the heralded gran turismo, should offer an alternative to owners who want to chauffeur three passengers rather than a box of Thin Mints. The car, which Bentley has yet to name, is expected to be available for American customers by the end of 2005. It will feature the same engine as the GT coupe does, a 12-cylinder twin turbo that develops 552 hp and 479 ft lbs of torque at 1,600 rpm. The Bentley is expected to sell at close to the coupe’s $155,990 sticker price, and with a projected top speed of approximately 200 mph, it will likely be the world’s fastest production sedan.
