Private Preview 2005: An Affordable Aston

    It seems befouling to describe the Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage as a down-market car, but the $100,000 two-seater is exactly that compared to the rest of the boutique manufacturer’s stable, which includes the flagship $230,000 Vanquish. The coupe, powered by a 4.3-liter V-8, will develop approximately 400 hp, and it should offer those who own a Porsche 911 Turbo or Carrera 4—two cars with prices and performance capabilities comparable to the Vantage’s—another option in the sports car category. The car will be produced at Aston’s new facility in Gaydon, England, and should be in showrooms by the end of 2005.
