Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

The BMW M3 finally has a competitor to worry about, as the CTS-V just put the performance-coupe world on notice; expect deliveries to begin by the end of 2010. Its four-door sibling, the original Cadillac CTS-V, is the fastest V-8 production sedan in the world. With 556 horsepower and 551 foot-pounds of torque, the rear-wheel-drive four-door can reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 191 mph—that’s faster than the Jaguar XFR, BMW M5, and Audi S6. The super sedan actually holds the track record at the Nürburgring, with an official time of 7 minutes and 59 seconds. This CTS-V is much more than just a big engine in a Cadillac. To further establish its place in the world of performance automobiles, Cadillac will put the same 6.2-liter supercharged Corvette V-8 engine into the forthcoming CTS-V coupe. Although it performs like a hard-core sports car, the CTS-V retains its refinement with smooth power delivery and an interior that puts most German rivals to shame. Cadillac has created a world-class competitor with CTS-V. Pros: A Cadillac that outperforms BMW and provides more interior amenities than Mercedes-Benz.
Cons:
Not as involving to drive as a BMW and lacks the cachet of a Mercedes-Benz.
