Hoyo De Monterrey La Escepción

Characteristics Sweet earthy spice with a hint of pepper and leather, this cigar has a sophisticated strength with a complexity reserved for the experienced smoker. Insider's Tip An offshoot of the Hoyo de Monterrey brand, the year on the double band hints that this is a limited offering. The rugged-textured wrapper is Habano Talanga from Honduras, but even more notable is the fact that this is the first cigar to feature Ometepe binder leaf from the volcanic soil of Ometepe Island in Nicaragua. (In fact, one of the volcanoes is still active.) Ometepe tobacco is very sweet, and a little of it goes a long way. Three sizes are available, but our choice is the Batet, a 5 x 54 figurado. Note Prices are per cigar and average suggested retail and do not reflect local or state taxes.
