Characteristics The ruggedly textured, box-pressed Costa Rican 5-year-old dark and oily maduro wrapper plays well against the Nicaraguan filler and binder. The result is a rough-hewn yet civilized flavor, somewhat akin to early Colonial furniture. There is also a slightly milder version with a beautiful Rosado Nicaraguan corojo wrapper. Insider's Tip Be sure to remove the paper wrapped around the foot of the cigar before lighting; it is there for decoration, not to be smoked. There are four shapes, with our favorite being the maduro 5 x 54 torpedo. By the way, the “RP” brand on the band stands for Rocky Patel, the man behind the cigar. Note Prices are per cigar and average suggested retail and do not reflect local or state taxes.
