Stefano Ricci

Long known for his leather outerwear and accessories, Florentine designer Stefano Ricci has put a renewed focus on his signature brand of tailored clothing since launching his eponymous shop last year within Florence’s famed Palazzo Tornabouni, the 15th-century palace that was once the home of Pope Leo XI. Ricci’s suits are made almost entirely by hand from exclusive fabrics designed by the master himself. Bespoke customers also have the option of being personally fitted by Antonio d’Angelo, the former Brioni tailor who now plies his craft for Ricci.

    Inside Information
Ricci, a sponsor of a periodic vintage Italian sports-car exhibition known as the Heritage Trophy, finds a curious parallel between the world of handmade cars and his tailored clothing. In both cases “you’ll never find the right side exactly the same as the left,” he says, noting how this lack of symmetry is a testament to the human hand and “the real point of owning something entirely handmade.”
