Arlberg Hospiz Hotel

The Arlberg Hospiz, in the tiny Alpine town of St. Christoph, plays the Austrian formula to perfection: The staff is mostly native and wears traditional garb, the interiors are warm and woody, and the main floor is divided into a quiet restaurant, bar, and lounge area that curls around a huge fireplace. Accommodations Ninety guest units ranging from single rooms to the Hospiz Suite, which accommodates as many as 12. Recreation Lounging at the spa, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, golfing, and playing tennis. Dining Two wine cellars containing approximately 65,000 bottles of Bordeaux supply the hotel’s à la carte eatery and the Hospiz Alm, an affiliated restaurant located just up the hill. Worthy Diversion Visit often enough to be invited to join the Brotherhood of St. Christoph, a 600-year-old organization that aids those in need. Rates Starting at $530 for doubles in the low season to $7,460 for the Hospiz Suite during the holidays. Rates include breakfast and dinner for two.
