Château de la Chèvre d’Or

First opened as a restaurant in 1953, the Château de la Chèvre d’Or has evolved over the years into a 33-room resort. Nine of the property’s Accommodations are apartments located within the village of Eze, France, adjacent to the resort. Each of the apartments, as well as the 24 rooms on-site, has a distinct design: One might pair prim, Empire-style furnishings with neoclassic columns and a sunken Jacuzzi, while another may offer a more rustic, Provençal setting with stone and rough-wood architecture. Accommodations Thirty-three suites designed in a broad range of motifs. The presidential suite includes a pool with dramatic views and Louis XVI–style furnishings accented with silk and gold leaf. Recreation The resort has a swimming pool, terraced gardens, and a fitness facility, all overlooking the Gulf of St. Tropez. Dining The Michelin-two-star La Chèvre d’Or is reason enough to visit the resort. Worthy Diversion Hire a car and visit the nearby village of St. Paul de Vence, where you can browse more than 70 art galleries and studios and find everything from postmodern paintings to original works by Matisse. Rates From $360 to $3,520.
