At the center of the Cotton House estate stands an old sugar mill surrounded by gardens and a boot-shaped swimming pool. The resort’s two-bedroom Cotton Hill residence has its own full-size pool (as well as a dedicated staff), and eight of the suites have private plunge pools. The Great Room, an 18th-century stone building and popular gathering place, offers superb afternoon tea, a nod to the island’s British heritage.
Accommodations A cluster of 18 small houses and one fully staffed residence with two bedrooms.
Recreation Swimming, sailing, snorkeling, and tennis. Scuba diving, horseback riding, and boat charters to the Tobago Cays can be arranged for a fee.
Dining Fresh fish and Caribbean produce add local flair to the international cuisine at Veranda.
Worthy Diversion Beach-hopping, preferably by mule (as gas-powered golf carts are known here), is one of the true pleasures on Mustique.
