Encore at Wynn Las Vegas

Before Steve Wynn opened Encore, interior designer Roger Thomas described the resort as “Wynn Las Vegas’ little sister who went to Macao and came back to Las Vegas a little more grown up.” It was, in fact, Thomas who went back and forth to China while designing interiors for a Wynn-owned resort in Macao. His latest effort on the Strip confirms that, for their encore, both he and Steve Wynn intended to keep it in the family. Encore’s bronze tower is taller than Wynn Las Vegas’ but is otherwise nearly identical. Accommodations The new resort has 2,034 rooms (682 fewer than Wynn) and all the requisite amenities (pools, casinos, nightclubs). Dining Five restaurants including the pan-Asian Wazuzu restaurant and the Botero steak house, where a fertility goddess sculpted by Colombian artist Fernando Botero reclines in the center of the dining room. Rates $190 to $3,000.
